I just finished watching the new documentary, Terms and Conditions May Apply by privacy advocate and filmmaker @CullenHoback. It’s a great movie that is grabbing some terrific reviews. I encourage you to check it out.
The movie depicts how companies use online terms and conditions to get more and more information from each and every one of us.
The problem we face is that the vast majority of us never read those terms and conditions. So we are unaware of and don’t fully appreciate the implications that can come from one simple click of the agree button.
This idea of clicking an agree button without reading the terms and conditions of an online contract is a core metaphor in my new book, The Leadership Contract.
I believe that many individuals have clicked agree to take on a leadership role without really understanding the terms and conditions that defines what it means to be a leader today. As a result, we have individuals in leadership roles not truly clear on what they must do, nor fully committed to being great leaders. My book helps leaders understand the fine print of great leadership.
I’ve just posted a new video resource where I explain what the leadership contract is and the implications to you as a leader. Check it out and let me know your thoughts.
